Virtual Fair Instructions

Attending virtual fairs through Handshake

We are excited to have you join us for a virtual fair. Handshake has a comprehensive virtual fair guide you can reference, and we have put together a checklist to help you get ready for your virtual fair experience! If you have any questions on registration or setting up your schedule, please contact Nick Bragin (nbragin@indiana.edu).

Step 1: Register for the fair

Indiana University has partnered with Handshake to host virtual fairs and post job and internship opportunities. Perhaps you are already using the Handshake system! If you are new to Handshake, please first set up your Handshake account. Then, you can register for any career fair at IU.

Step 2: Create a schedule

Once you have registered for the fair, you will need to create a fair schedule to open up available sessions for students. You can choose from two different formats:

  • 10 minute individual meetings
  • 30 minute group information sessions (up to 50 students)

You can also have multiple representatives from your organization host meetings and information sessions.

Step 3: Prepare to host virtual sessions

Once you have your schedule set up, you might be wondering what the virtual fair will be like through Handshake. We want you to have a rewarding virtual fair experience. Please review the instructions and reach out if you have any questions.
