Finance is a broad term that refers to the management of money and the process of acquiring funds. It involves activities such as investing, saving, borrowing, lending, and budgeting. Finance is often separated into three sub-categories based on who needs funding to operate: Personal Finance (assessing financial status, buying insurance, calculating taxes, and planning for retirement), Corporate Finance (how businesses raise, spend, and invest money), and Public Finance (how government entities acquire and spend money).
